Jharkhand to host National Film Festival next year: CM


    Ranchi, Sept. 2: Chief Minister Raghubar Das today announced that Jharkhand will be hosting National Film Festival next year. Das said it when veteran film actor and Jharkhand Film Technical Advisory Committee Chairperson Anupam Kher called on him at Project Building.

    On Khers insistence, the CM ordered to start construction of film city. He also requested the CM to take initiative to start direct flight from Ranchi to Mumbai. The CM assured him that he would talk with Union Civil Aviation Ministry in this regard as soon as possible as soon as possible and get it implemented.

    During the meeting Kher intimated the CM about the meeting of Technical Advisory Committee in which it was agreed upon that abandoned, worn out and closed cinema halls should be rejuvenated, small cinema halls in every district should be opened to promote local and regional films, distribution network in Jharkhand should be developed and tax concession considered with respect to regional and local films which the CM consented.

    During the discussion, Kher told the CM that the meeting was very successful and concluded in a congenial atmosphere. Praising IPRD team openheartedly, Kher said that ‘this team is full of energy and coordination.’

    He said that all members of Jharkhand Film Technical Advisory Committee are famous personalities from art field.

    Lives of all members and their experiences contain brilliant stories fit for film making. He hoped that the existing team of IPRD will work with the same conviction to boost up not only the film sector but in every respect and enable the state stand at the forefront of developed states of the nation.
