Jharkhand CM undertakes aerial inspection of flood affected areas, assures of proper compensation

Ranchi, August 18: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday said that all possible help will be extended to the people impacted by floods in the Sahebganj district and assured that after making proper assessment of the damages incurred and government would pay compensation to the people impacted by the flood.

The chief minister made these comments after laying foundation schemes and inaugurating different projects at football grounds in Barhet block of Sahebganj district. Later he had an aerial survey of the flood affected areas. He said that the state government is actively working to provide food grains to the people, taking them to safer locations and providing them with health care amenities. Apart from that arrangements are being also made to even take away the cattle from the flood hit areas to safer locations and arrangements for fodder is being also made.

He said that the state government was fully committed to the safety of the people affected by the floods.

During the function he laid foundation stones and inaugurated a total of 35 schemes. He also distributed  land deeds and assets among beneficiaries of various government schemes including credit linkages worth Rs 12.46 lakh to women self help groups (SHGs). Those present on the occasion included Jharkhand rural development minister Alamgir Aalam, Rajmahal MP Viajy Hansda and Borio MLA Lobin Hembrom.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister gave acceptance letter to two beneficiaries from Panchkathia Santhali Panchayat, one from Kadma Panchayat under Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Awas Yojna and distributed acceptance letters to two beneficiaries from Panchkathia Panchayat under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) Housing Plus. . Under JSLPS, a grant amount of Rs 12,45,000 was given to Jyoti Aajeevika Sakhi Mandal (Barhait Santhali Dakshin). . Apart from this, funds were also provided to the beneficiaries under various schemes.

After the program, Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren took stock of the flood situation in Sahibganj district by conducting an aerial survey.
