Jamshedpur: Amidst thrills and spills of sea life, the city’s ‘Navy Guy’ has kept his passion for music alive. City-based merchant navy officer Yashraj Singh has come up with his first solo song titled ‘ Pehli Pehli Vaar’. The song that was released on Christmas has been shot at NH 33 based resort. The song has been penned by the singer himself and the music has been scored by young music director Guneet.
Young talent Yash, who is an engineer by profession, said that the song has become a big hit as it is getting maximum number of likes on YouTube and other social media platforms.
“Being a navy officer I remain in sea most of the time. I face challenges of my life with music, soulful songs inspire to me sail the struggles of sea life. I have always dreamt of coming up with a single and during lockdown I got time to pen songs and one of my favourite composition has been released. I want to come with a complete album next,” said Yash.
“Within few minutes of its release the song started getting several hits on YouTube. I never expected so many people to listen to it. The response has been good, considering this is my first ever release,” said Yash.
The young singing talent, who is also known for his skills in guitar said: “I want to continue to my passion in the field of singing. My parents are my greatest support, want me to take up music seriously. The best part of my solo song is that even my parents have appeared in the video. They are my constant source of encouragement and advice.”
When questioned about his passion for singing, he said that music is his first love and would remain attached to it. “I am really overwhelmed with the kind of response I received with the release of my first song. I think the budding singers should make it a habit to practice daily and show keenness to learn every bit of it.”
Talking about the changing face of the music industry, Yash said: “ Music today has become like a fashion. With passage of time it keeps changing. The genre of music may change but ‘riyaaz’ ( practice) will always be the same. Singer may come and go but an artist has to keep practicing to succeed. Carving a name for me is not a struggle it is the love for music that helps me grow”.
