Jamshedpur, Jan. 6: Ruchi Narendran, secretary, Jamshedpur Dog Show, said efforts are on by the club in association with Jusco to give Man’s Best Friend a dignified and respectful end by way of installing a crematorium in Jamshedpur.
‘We have had talks with people in Chandigarh who are involved in construction of crematory furnace but the cost of construction will come up around Rs 15 lakh for which citizen’s will be requested to donate generously at Pet’s Piggy Bank being kept at the Dog show’, said Mrs. Narendran.
The dog population has increased a lot in the steel city and there is an urgent need for a crematorium if built will be the first in Jharkhand state.
Jamshedpur Kennel Club (JKC), the only registered organization in Jharkhand and Bihar has urged the people to donate generously for building the crematorium in Jamshedpur which would help citizens at large.
Though Tata Motors has a crematorium for its canine but is limited for the company’s dog staff.
According to Humane Society International (HIS) which runs dog care centre in Jamshedpur, there are more than 20,000 dogs in the steel city.
