Jamshedpur Tiger Mobile cops manhandled, FIR lodged

Jamshedpur, May 10: A Tiger Mobile patrol team of Burmamines police station was allegedly manhandled by a group of hooligans near an abandoned quarter on Sunday last, police said.

Cops said the police team was patrolling the area around 9.15 pm when it spotted several men assembled near a dilapidated quarter situated close to Linde company. When the police officers reached the spot and questioned the men for the purpose of their assembly, the latter misbehaved with them and also manhandled them, police said.

The patrol team tried to arrest the accused persons but they escaped by taking advantage of darkness. Police registered an FIR against five persons including one Mahesh Thakur alias Raja of Bhaktinagar under Burmamines PS in connection with the incident. They raided his house but failed to get him.
