Jamshedpur: Theater thespian Hari Mittal honoured with Surabhi Kala Bibhuti Samman in Kolkata

Jamshedpur, Sept 16: International organization, ‘Rachnakar – A Literary and Cultural Revolution,’ a project of Shuktika India Foundation, celebrated its annual function at a prominent club in Kolkata on the occasion of Hindi Diwas. On this occasion, eminent theatre personality of Jamshedpur and theatre thespian Hari Mittal was honoured with the prestigious ‘Creator-Surabhi Kala-Vibhuti Samman.’ Firhad Hakim, the Mayor of Kolkata and Minister of Transport and Home Construction, Government of West Bengal, was present as the chief guest in the program.

The President of Surabhi Sanstha of Jamshedpur, Govind Dodrajka was the special guest on the occasion. Many towering personalities in the fields of literature, art and performing media in Kolkata added glitter to the programme with their presence.  The entire programme was presented online for the international audience. It may be mentioned that ‘Creator–Surabhi Kala–Vibhuti Samman’ is awarded annually by the institution to a personality who has done commendable work in the field of Indian drama, music, dance, literature and other creative fields. The award carries a cash prize of twenty one thousand rupees, a citation and a memento. The selection committee of Shuktika India Foundation had selected Hari Mittal. Hari Mittal as recipient of the honour this year. Hari Mittal is an engineer by profession and has an M-Tech degree from the University of California.

He has been active in the field of theater as an actor, director and trainer since 50 years. He is also actively associated with many social and cultural organizations including Doordarshan and All India Radio. Hari Mittal has also been honored with many prestigious honors and awards, including Hindi Seva Samman, Sanskar Bharati Nataraj Samman, Kala Bharati Samman, Tulsi Bhawan Bharat-Muni Samman, to name a few.
