Jamshedpur Sikhs observe martyrdom day of Chaar Sahibzaade

Jamshedpur, Dec. 27: Sikh religious organization Dharam Prachar Committee Jamshedpur observed the martyrdom day of Chaar Sahibzaade and paid them rich tributes at a function held at Khudiram Bose chowk in Mango on Tuesday.

People of the Sikh community along with people in large number gathered at the venue. Several Gurudwara around the city held special prayers to remember the Chaar Sahibzade.

It may be noted that the youngest sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh who were born at Anandpur Sahib were martyred by sealing alive in a wall after they were produced before the faujdar, Wazir Khan, who had just returned from Chamkaur with his feudal ally, Nawab Sher Muhammad Khan of Malerkotla.

Wazir Khan tried to lure the Sahibzadas to embrace Islam with promises of riches and honours, but they spurned the suggestion.

On the occasion Dharam Prachar Committee organised a confluence where they informed the people about the sacrifice of the youngest sons of Guru Gobind Singh.

Jaswant Singh Jassu of the committee said, the main motive behind organizing the event is open was to inform about the martyrdom to the masses. At the event Gurpreet Singh, Jarnail Singh, Manpreet Kaur, Sukhwant Singh Sukhu expressed their views and shed light on some interesting facts on the life and martyrdom of Sahibzadas.

To make the programme successful Raghubir Singh, Tajinder Singh, Ranveer Singh and others played a vital role. Members of the committee also distributed pamphlets depicting the life of Sahibzadas.
