Jamshedpur reports 5 new Covid-19 cases, zero deaths in 24 hrs


Jamshedpur, July 17:  The daily positive case count in Jamshedpur dropped to single digit again on Saturday.

Jamshedpur reported 5 positive cases on Saturday while zero death was recorded. 

The new positives in Jamshedpur took the Coronavirus tally to 51735.

9 people recovered of the virus on Saturday taking the total recovery to 50624 while total active cases in Jamshedpur is 57.

Of the 57 patients still undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in the district, most are in home isolation, while some are being treated at care centres and hospitals. 

As many as 9 people recovered from the virus on Saturday taking the overall recoveries to 50624 which accounts for a recovery rate of 97.86%.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 434905 tests per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97.86% while the mortality rate is 2.04 %.

With 5 new Covid-19 cases, Jamshedpur’s positivity rate on Saturday, remained below 1%, as the city stayed on the recovery path after a brutal wave of infections between April and May. The positivity rate stood at 0.06% on Saturday.

More than 7900 were tested on the day. Data from the state government’s daily health bulletin showed that the Covid-19 test positivity is 0.06%. The state, too, witnessed a massive fall in infections and fatalities.

The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 0.06 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 7900 tests in the last 24 hours. 

The Steel City tested 7913 samples, of which, 9 turned out positive while 9 people recovered from the Covid-19. The continuous high numbers of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 0.06 per cent, the government data showed.

So far in Jamshedpur 1172348 samples have been collected out of which 1157716 have been tested and 1105981 have turned out to be negative.
