Jamshedpur: Quadruple murder accused attempts suicide in Ghagidih Jail

Jamshedpur, Sep 6: Deepak Kumar, accused of brutally killing his wife, two daughters, and tuition teacher in Teesta Road under Kadma police station area, attempted suicide on September 2 in Ghagidih Jail. He drank the gas from the fire extinguisher installed at the jail. 


Deepak’s treatment is currently going at RIMS, Ranchi. He was brought to MGM after the incident. In this case, a case of attempt to commit suicide has been registered against Deepak in Parsudih police station on Monday on the statement of Ghagidih Jail Superintendent Narendra Kumar Singh. 


Deepak Kumar, a fire brigade employee of Tata Steel, killed his wife Veena Kumari (36), elder daughter Shravani Kumari (15), younger daughter Divya Kumari (10) and tuition teacher Rinki Ghosh (21), a resident of Ramnagar. After killing her, Deepak also raped the teacher. The police had arrested the accused from Dhanbad on April 16.
