Jamshedpur, Jan 19: Private schools have decided to enhance tuition fees for the academic session 2021-22.
Significantly, there was no increase in tuition fees last session (2020-21) and this has made the Jamshedpur Unaided School Association (an umbrella organisation of private schools in the city) take a decision to hike the fees for the ensuing academic session.
A proposal in this connection has been submitted to the district superintendent of education of East Singhbhum which informs that for each class there would be enhancement of 10 per cent of tuition fees from the new academic session and has requested for calling of the district level fees fixation committee meeting at the earliest.
Acording to information private schools need to take a nod from the district level fees fixation committee for any hike of 10 per cent in the tuition fees and taking this pretext the school have gone for a 10 per cent hike in tuition fees.
The students taking admission in the new session will have to pay the enhanced tuition fees and. Currently, there is no increase in the tuition fees but small hike has been witnessed in other heads of the fees.
Sources hinted that the meeting of the district level fees fixation committee is scheduled in February this year which would decide on the changes in the fees structure of the private schools at the entry level for the new session.
The East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Suraj Kumar has already directed the district superintendent of education to draw out a proposal in this connection and has already started a comparative analysis of the schools fees.
Incidentally, for wards of DAV School Bistupur parents at the entry level parents have to pay more than Rs 63,000 and similarly more than a dozen schools have gone for increase in admission fees between Rs 1500 and Rs 4000 as compared to last session.
