Jamshedpur, Sept 13:  While criminals are having a field day and night almost gleefully committing thefts, crimes and snatching and openly toting guns and revolvers, the police have remained ponderous in trying to spread the dragnet and nab such elements and provide relief to sleepless citizens who prefer peace that has been a trademark of this steel city.

An immediate unsavory incident that comes to mind is the one involving Baradwari Devnagar resident Vishwanath Agarwal when four nights ago, he was stop[ped by criminals and divested of Rs 4.80 lakh and his scooty while returning home. Vishwanath Agarwal runs a medical store and grocery shop in Baridih. The incident happened on the night of Friday, September 10.

A delegation of Purvi Singhbhum Zila Marwari Sammelan (PSZMS) led by the organization’s president, Ashok Modi visited the Devnagar residence of Vishwanath Agarwal and learnt the details of the snatching from the victim. Later, the PSZMS delegation met district officials and demanded the immediate arrest of the criminals involved in the looting incident on the night of Friday, September 10 of businessman and Devnagar resident Vishwanath Agarwal.

Umesh Shah, vice-president of Jharkhand Rajya Marwari Sammelan, assured Vishwanath Agarwal of all possible support from the community. Shah also said that community members would continue to put pressure on the district administration until the criminals were brought to book. State secretary Naresh Modi, District secretary Murarilal Agarwal, Bhalubasa Branch President Pankaj Chhavchharia, were among the PSZMS delegation members who visited Vishwanath Agarwal’s residence at Devnagar in Baradwari and met the district administration officials demanding arrest of the criminals and recovery of cash and scooty at the earliest.
