Jamshedpur, Sep 30: Incessant rain from the last 24 hours has closed road connectivity between Jamshedpur and Odisha. A culvert was constructed near Hata on the Highway 220 road connecting Jamshedpur – Odisha for the last one year. The movement of vehicles was going smoothly by making a diversion near the culvert for the movement. But due to the continuous rain following the Gulab storm, the diversion got washed away. Dozens of heavy vehicles were stranded on both sides of the road as the Jamshedpur-Odisha main road was closed due to the diversion. According to the information, the entire Haldipokhar has been transformed into an island. Local people said that the construction of the culvert was very slow. Retired teacher Shankar Chandra Gop said that people were facing a lot of trouble due to the diversion being made of substandard quality. Despite several complaints to the contractor, the work was going on at tortoise speed. As a result, the diversion has washed away.
