Jamshedpur, March 31: Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato iterated demands related to new train services from Tatanagar to various remote locations including Buxar, Bengaluru, Jaipur and Bhagalpur at a meeting with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and senior Railway Board officials on Thursday.
The MP said he had been pursuing the Railways with these demands for the last several years. He urged the Rail Minister to start a direct train service from Tata to Buxar. He said alternatively, the train service may be started from Tata to Danapur via Gaya, Dehri-on-Sone, Pundit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Buxar and Ara. He said the facility would greatly benefit the people of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The Rail Minister assured to give due consideration to the demands.
Mahato further demanded that the trains lining Tata to Jammutavi, Alleppey and Lokmanya Tilak Terminal should be restarted and a new superfast train service from Tata to Bengaluru should also be started for the benefit of the people of his constituency. He also demanded halting of Hatia-Howrah Express train at Chakulia station and that of Utkal Express at Rakha Mines Station.
Mahato said there was also need for train services from Tata to Jaipur and Tata to Bhagalpur. He said the work of laying railway lines from Chakulia to Budamara was disrupted at present. The work should resume soon, he said.
The MP was informed that the land acquisition work was pending in Jharkhand and hence the Budamara rail line work was pending. The Rail Minister said he would write to Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren in this regard, said Mahato.
