Jamshedpur, May 12: On May 1, East Jamshedpur legislator Saryu Roy had written to the DDC recommending the donation of an ambulance and a hearse from his legislative fund to Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC). As a follow up, the ambulance was delivered on Tuesday, May 11 at the DC’s office premises while the hearse was handed to JNAC near The Milanee at J Road in Bistupur on Wednesday, May 12. The hearse, costing Rs 9.50 lakh was flagged of jointly by JNAC Special Officer Krishna Kumar, BJM district president Subodh Srivastav, legislator’s representative (social services)Hareram Singh, Jamshedpur East convener Ajay Sinha, MLA’s personal secretary Sudhir Singh in the presence of legislator Saryu Roy.
In view of the rising trend of COVID positive cases an ambulance to the fleet would turn beneficial. Moreover, with the huge number of deaths were proving difficult to move the bodies and as such the hearse was also handed to the JNAC.
