Assailant roams across the locality with victim�s head
Jamshedpur: In a bizarre incident, a mentally challenged man beheaded a lady teacher of a government-run primary school at Seraikela in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district, on Tuesday afternoon. The village where this frightening incident took place is Khaparsai.
The victim, identified as Sukru Hessa (30) was brutally murdered just outside the school campus. The assailant identified as Hari Hembram who is reportedly mentally ill, killed the teacher after dragging her out of her class-room at about 12.30 pm, while she was teaching the school.
Moreover, the assailant after the gruesome act took head in his hand and roamed about the locality for an hour or so after being nabbed by policemen.
Sub-divisional police officer, Seraikela, Abinash Kumar confirmed about the murder of a school teacher at Khaparsai in Seraikela.
“Our team rushed to the spot as we came to know. We have arrested the assailant who is reportedly mentally ill and would stay with his mother. We will probe into his alleged mental illness after forwarding him to Seraikela Divisional Jail tomorrow,” said Kumar.
The SDPO said that the teacher was a resident of Salgajhuri at Parsudih in Jamshedpur, but would stay at a rented house at Khaparsai.
“As per our probe the murder victim would initially stay in rent at the house of the assailant just in front of the primary school, but watching the latter’s uncommon behaviour, she decided to shift to another house at the same village. The shifting the house may be a reason behind the attack on the teacher by the assailant,” said the SDPO.
The school where the incident took place is Prathamik Vidyalaya, Khaparsai. It had two teachers, including the murder victim and the other one being another lady teacher Renu Kumari Panda beside the head-master Dubi Barla.
Renu said that she had just left the school at 11 am for attending a training programme in Seraikela, having given charge of the classes to Sukru.
“We are still in state of shock. As I got information that Hari has murdered Sukru teacher. Then I rished back to the school and found the headless body of my colleague. ,” Renu. Renu said Sukru was screaming while she was being dragged out of her class.
