Jamshedpur man attacked with sword for extortion money

Jamshedpur, Aug 17: One Bablu Kumar of Gandhi Basti in Ramnagar, Kadma, was reportedly assaulted with sword by two persons late yesterday evening.

According to police, the accused persons, identified as Mangru and Anshu, came knocking at his door around 9.30 pm and barged inside with sword in their hands. Both accused attacked Bablu and injured him severely. They allegedly demanded Rs 5000 from the victim as extortion money, police said.

When Bablu’s neighbours gathered at the scene, the accused persons decamped.

Bablu was admitted to MGM Hospital. Police said a search was on for the accused persons.
