Jamshedpur, May 14: A Telco resident, Ritu Kumari, has accused her husband Sonu Singh and her in-laws of torturing her for dowry. She also alleged that her husband had married another woman.
In a written complaint to the SSP East Singhbhum, Ritu said she was married to Sonu Singh on 7th December 2015. “After few months, Sonu and his family members started torturing me for dowry. I also tried to commit suicide by consuming poison on 4th June 2016. After a settlement at the Mahila Thana, I returned to my matrimonial house. I was driven out of my house in December 2021. I caught my husband with another woman on 6th January last at Birsanagar. I also lodged a police complaint against my husband, but no action was taken against him,” she said.
