Jamshedpur, September 23: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) on Thursday allotted 18 shops out of 53 built near Bhalubasa Chowk through lottery. The allotment process was completed in JNAC auditorium. Lottery slips were issued only to the beneficiaries. Shop numbers were written on the slips. JNAC Special Officer Krishna Kumar, Sakchi police station in-charge Kunal Kumar, City Managers Sonal Singh and Anay Raj and others were present. Krishna Kumar said that 18 shops had been allotted in the first phase.
The remaining shops would be allotted to the eligible beneficiaries shortly. Prior to holding the allotment lottery, information was taken on the items to be sold by the beneficiaries in their stalls. Original government documents including Adhaar card and voter ID of beneficiaries were scrutinized. Care has been taken to make basic facilities available to the people in front of the shops. Pavers blocks have been laid. Drinking water and toilet facilities have also been provided. JNAC authorities said that protests against allotments would be taken up for consideration after scrutinizing reasons for complaints and investigating the allegations.
It may be mentioned that a four member inquiry committee headed by Executive Magistrate Savita Toppo was constituted on the orders of Dhalbhum SDO. The committee included JNAC City Manager Ravi Bharati, assistant engineer, and officials from the Tata Steel Land Department who set up a camp to verify the claims of applicants for shops. Videography was conducted during scrutiny of application for shop allotments leading to short listing of 18 applications who were beneficiaries in Thursday’s shop allotments by lottery.
The 18 beneficiaries who were allotted shops by JNAC on Thursday included Urmila Devi, Satendra Rajak, Naresh Mukhi, Jitendra Rajak, Raju Mukhi, Bablu Rajak, Kajal Bhattacharya, Ishwar Rajak, Jotia Mukhi, Kallu Mukhi, Purna Chandra Kaibarta, Prahlad Thakur, Mahendra Thakur, Pintu Puthal, Bashu Mandal, Ajay Kumar alias Satish , Phulchand Gorai, Kalidas Mukhi aka Badal Mukhi.
