Jamshedpur, Dec 1: Train movement on Howrah-Mumbai route was hit following the derailment of a good train. The mishap took place at the loco shed of Tatanagar railway station. The mishap took place when the empty rakes of a goods train reached the shunting line. No injury or casualties have been reported.
The movement of several trains in the Howrah-Mumbai mainline was affected between 12.15 pm and 3 pm. An official said that train services were restored to normalcy after 3 pm following the restoration of work. The running of Howrah-bound Jan Shatabdi Express, Ispat Express and Mumbai- bound Geetanjali Superfast Express were affected.
Located on the Howrah-Mumbai main route Tatanagar is an important station. Several important trains travel via Tatanagar, including the high-profile Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express. The station sees a daily traffic of 90 mail, express and passenger trains, besides a footfall of more than 60,000 passengers.
