Jamshedpur, Apr 13: The news about South Point School in Mango seeking exam fees from students in reserved category and withholding report card for failure to clear exam fees has reached the door of district superintendent of education (DSE).
Jamshedpur Abhibhavak Sangh ( a parents forum) delegation on Tuesday met the DSE  and informed that if a school official or representative seeks fees from students under reserved category then under RTE Act (2009) section 13-2  the said official or representative has to pay 10 times of the exam fees as fine and it is a punishable offence.
Flouting the directive South Point School management sought exam fees from the students admitted under reserved quota. A total of 12 students have so far complained about this offence. Each of the student is being asked to pay Rs 600 and if they do not pay then their annual report card would not be given.
The forum has requested DSE to take stern action against the school management for flouting the RTE Act (2009) directive.
