873 recoveries bring down active cases below 6k
18 death, 489 new infections reported
Jamshedpur, May 12: For the fourth consecutive day recoveries outnumbered daily Covid infections in Jamshedpur on Wednesday bringing bring much needed relief to the city.
A day after 530 positive cases were reported, Jamshedpur recorded 489 positive cases while 873 people recovered of the virus on Wednesday. Deaths due to the virus continue to be sign of worry as 18 people succumbed due to Covid on Wednesday, May 12, East Singhbhum Covid bulletin said.
During this period, a total of 4888 Covid
tests were conducted in Jamshedpur.
City reported 18 deaths on Wednesday while district’s positive cases tally has mounted to 44423. According to the data provided by the East Singhbhum district health department on Wednesday 18 fatalities were due to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours. The death toll has climbed to 878. The total active cases have come down to are 5745.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 307955 test per million in the district.Sidhgora and Kadma locality of Steel City continues to be a Covid hotspot.
As per the records of health department out of 4888 people who underwent Covid tests in East Singhbhum 489 were found positive.
As many as 37800 people have recovered from COVID-19 so far with 873 recoveries recorded in the last 24-hours. Over 4500 COVID-19 tests, including 2084 RT-PCR and 2281 RAT were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.
The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 86.04% while the mortality rate is 1.98%.
So far in Jamshedpur 828620 amples have been collected out of which 819777 have been tested and 775354 have turned out to be negative.
