Baldev Singh fails to hand over land paper even after taking money three years ago

Jamshedpur, Jan 10: A commotion was created during a program at Michael John Auditorium in Bistupur organised by Desh Bachao, Samvidhan Bachao campaign (save country, save constitution) when several persons started shouting against Congress leader Baldev Singh for cheating in land sale deals on Sunday.

The Congress leader Baldev Singh seeing the commotion caused by the persons was trying to escape from the spot but was caught by the persons who were bent on getting a clear answer from the leader.

The elderly leader was allowed to leave the venue only after giving a written assurance that he would return the amount taken from them within January 30.

According to the persons who had assembled at the program, Baldev Singh who was raising issues like save the country and save the constitution had sold some lands in Bagbera and had taken payments from them too three years back. But after so long a period had not given them possession of the land. The claimants said that before taking up issues like saving the constitution the Congress leader should first try to follow it in his own work and honour commitment.

According to Deepak Kumar Sharma he had paid Rs 3.31 lakh to Baldev Singh for a plot of land near Bagbera police station but the leader had always adopted delaying tactics in giving possession of the land stating that the court papers of the land is yet to be cleared.

Another claimant Monika Jaiswal told that her brother had paid Baldev Singh for the land and a few days back when her brother tried to confront Baldev Singh over delay near Sakchi roundabout the Congress leader had tried to run over his car on her brother and fled from the spot. The claimants said that the Congress leader has sought time till January 30 to pay back their amount.

Meanwhile, Baldev Singh replied that though the land is in his name but since it has not yet been vacated so he cannot handover land’s possession to them.

“The land is in my name but since people have set up houses on it illegally and have to be vacated before land is handed over to persons who have paid an amount. If the people want they can take recourse to legal options. I have taken time till January 30 and would try to clear the amount of all persons before that date,” said Baldev Singh.
