Jamshedpur, May 18: Executive Officer (EO) of Mango Municipal Corporation, Deepak Sahay held a meeting with senior officials of the corporation over preparation ahead of monsoon.
He directed the engineers who have been deputed should visit those wards and inspect the area where the drain is getting blocked or the drain is not clean, so that waterlogging problem does not arise due to the upcoming monsoon and the recent rains and ensure work of cleaning immediately. They were also asked to make a list of drains and provide it to the city manager Jitendra Kumar so that the work of cleaning the drain should be done.
The Executive Officer issued instructions to the contractors doing the drain construction work to be in alert mode, and also instructed to complete the drain cleaning work within three days by employing suitable cleaning personnel.
The executive officer said that in the wards where deputation has been made, if a complaint related to drain comes in that ward, action will be taken against such workers and the agreement of the contractors who do not complete the work of cleaning the drain immediately will be cancelled.
He also said that during visit in the ward area by junior engineers, information should be taken about the problem of waterlogging and where the drain is to be constructed and directive issued for preparing estimate of drain construction.
