Jamshedpur: Cash stolen from Hanuman temple

Jamshedpur, Sep 27: Unknown thieves decamped with valuables worth 1.5 lakhs on Sunday night at Sri Sri Manokamna Shiv Hanuman Mandir, located on the east side of the railway parcel gate at Tatanagar railway station overbridge. The thieves broke two locks to enter the temple. The thieves took over the silver crown of Lord Hanuman along with a donation box, amplifier, high mast light, five thousand cash from the donation box and other items. The value of the stolen goods has been estimated at Rs. 1.5 lakhs.
Theft incident came to light when the priest Kapil Dev Jha came to worship. Officers of Station Road Fruit Vegetable Producer cum Vendor Cooperation Committee Limited also reached the spot. The incident was reported to the Bagbera police station. Officer incharge  Kaushlendra Jha also reached and inquired about the matter. The police found a broken lock. The thieves also damaged the grill. According to the information, the thieves had come on a tempo. They were three in number. After carrying out the incident, the woman who came to sell vegetables on the bridge also tried to rob. Seeing the people, the thieves fled with the tempo.
