Jamshedpur BJP stages sit-in protest, denounces neglect of OBC community interests

Jamshedpur, May 24: Under the banner of Bharatiya Janata Party Jamshedpur Mahanagar Pichhda Jati Morcha, a one-day sit-in demonstration was organized in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in the district on Wednesday. The protest, led by Dharmendra Prasad, the Jamshedpur Mahanagar President of the Morcha, saw the active participation of MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, Jharkhand State President of OBC Morcha Amardeep Yadav, and numerous other leaders.

During the demonstration, speakers vehemently criticized the Hemant government, accusing it of neglecting the interests of the OBC community. The protest aimed to voice strong opposition against the biased attitude of the Hemant government towards the OBC community.

The demands raised during the protest included ensuring that the benefits of the Ayushman Yojana are extended to all underprivileged and needy individuals, granting scholarships to students, ensuring all classes benefit from the MNREGA scheme’s wages, and providing a 27 percent reservation for OBC castes in Panchayat and Municipal elections.

A memorandum highlighting these demands was submitted to the Governor through the Deputy Commissioner of the District. Rajkumar Sah presided over the stage during the protest and Mahendra Prasad delivered the vote of thanks. Several individuals, including Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Dinesh Kumar, Rakesh Singh, Jitendra Rai, Sumit Sharma, Sonu Thakur, Pawan Singh, Vinod Rai, Amarendra Paswan, Chanchal Chakraborty, and other workers, actively participated in the demonstration.
