Jamshedpur, Feb. 22: Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) board�s ISC (class 12) examinations started peacefully on Monday.
On the first day of the exams, students answered their paper in computer science. While exam began from 2 p.m., the students were directed to be present at their respective centre 45 minutes prior to the exam. Students of Loyola School and Sacred Heart Convent appeared for the exam.
The duration for each paper in ISC exam is of 3 hours, but the ICSE (class 10) exams starting from February 29 will be of 2-hour duration each.
The ICSE exam will kick off with English paper-1 subject. The CISCE board has divided the city into two zones. The convener of Zone1 is Father Sebastian Puthepura, principal of Loyola School, and it includes 15 schools. Hill Top School principal Puneeta B. Chouhan is the convener of Zone 2 which includes 13 schools.
A total of 4500 students will appear in ICSE exam, while 3000 students will appear in ISC exam from Jamshedpur.
The exam was held at the home centre but the guarding will be done by invigilators from other schools.
The next ISC exam will be held on February 24 with the paper on physical education, followed by English language on February 26, and English literature on February 29.
For science students, physics exam will be held on March 4, chemistry on March 11, mathematics on March 15 and biology on March 18.
The ISC exam will conclude on Friday, April 8 with Geography-Paper 1.
