Inter-State gang of mobile phone thieves busted near Jamshedpur, 9 arrested with 75 mobiles

Seraikela, Sep 25: In a major breakthrough, Seraikela Kharsawan Police unearthed a big gang of  mobile thieves at Haat Bazaar and crowded places. Under this, 9 accused of inter-state mobile thief gang operating mainly in Kolhan division area have been arrested with a total of 75 mobiles.
Addressing a press conference, Superintendent of Police Anand Prakash said that on September 23, in Kharsawan Weekly Haat, a person was caught with two stolen mobiles with the help of police and villagers. On interrogation it was found that the mobile thief was working as a gang. Other members of its gang came from Sahebganj and Vardhman and used to steal mobiles of general public from crowded places like weekly market, bus stand and railway station of Kharsawan, Seraikela, Kolabira, Sini, Kandra, Gamharia, Mango and Sakchi etc. 
 In this sequence, as per the orders of the senior police officer, a special raiding team was formed and on September 24, 24-year-old Mithun Mandal, a resident of Teenpahar of Rajmahal police station area, was arrested in suspicious condition from Kharsawan Beharasai. 9 stolen mobiles were recovered from him. In the course of interrogation, Mithun revealed about his other associates that these people are carrying out the theft by staying in a rented house near Pardih. On the basis of Mithun’s statement and spotting, 15-year-old Rahul Nunia, resident of Nigha of Vardhman Jamudia and Shubham Turi, 14, resident of Paharpur in Sahebganj Taljhari, with 15 mobiles, 25-year-old resident of Teenpahar of Rajmahal from Gamharia police station near Sadar Court Seraikela. Chandan Mahato with 9 mobiles and 5 people living in a rented house near Pardih Kali temple Kirtan Nunia, 41, resident of Nigha of Vardhman Jamudia, 18-year-old Rahul Nunia, resident of Nigha Imli Dhoda of Vardhman Jamudia, Nidha Imli of Vardhman Jamudia. 18-year-old Rahul Paswan resident of Dhoda, 40-year-old Ram Dular Pandit, resident of Nigha of Vardhman Jamudia and 16-year-old Sama Karmakar, resident of Dhamra stone quarry of Asansol Raniganj were arrested with a total of 42 mobiles. 
The SP said that all of them are mainly residents of Sahibganj, Teenpahar and Jamudia Vardhman districts. All the 75 mobiles seized are branded smartphones.
