Govt working to increase farmers income: CM

Ranchi, April 18: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that the state government is working to increase the farmers income by connecting them with horticulture, animal husbandry, dairy work and other creative works. Youths and women will be given training and skilled to do work and make their living.

Under the Mission Antyodaya, which aims at reducing poverty by improving livelihood opportunities through skill training and skill upgradation for self-employment, subsidised bank loans for setting up micro-enterprises, organising urban poor into self-help groups, among others, the govt. is working fast. Das said it while holding talks with Union Rural Development Secretary Amarjit Sinha. It was a courtesy meeting.

CM Das said that rural and urban roads are becoming better and the connecting roads are also being improved. Better road connectivity will help the rural people and they can visit the city to sell their produce. The youths will be provided buses on easy installments under rural bus services. The govt. wants people to work here.

Sinha said that Jharkhand is undergoing a major developmental phase. He said that when he was first posted in West Singhbhum the development was nowhere to be seen but now the work is visible on ground. He further informed that Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will soon visit Jharkhand. Principal Secretary to the CM Sanjay Kumar was also present during the meet.
