Govt hopeful to launch Land Bank in the first week of July says Raghubar Das

Jamshedpur : Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghuvar Das has said that land bank is likely be launched in the state from first week of July.

Implementation of land bank would boost investment and industrial growth in mineral-rich Jharkhand, he hoped. “We will ensure that the image of mineral-abundant Jharkhand is not tarnished and develop it as number one state of the country,” he said.

The Chief Minister sounded confident and said that the Government is equally keen to see the industry and agriculture develop on a similar speed. The Government can never neglect agriculture growth and will work for its development.

�I have started reviewing the issues concerning various departments to pave way for development. We want to develop Adityapur Industrial Area as manufacturing hub of the State. Steps would also be taken to set up Land Bank to meet the land crunch,� said Das.

To a query about the proposed setting up of land bank, Das said, “We have received report in this regard from all but five/six districts.” “We have directed those districts to submit their reports soon,” he said expressing confidence that

Das said the government would work efficiently in bringing speedy development, providing basic amenities and improving policing. He also said that ensuring corruption free governance will be his foremost priority.

He also emphasised that his government would be accountable and ensure rapid development by utilising the abundance of natural resources. Ensuring more employment opportunities in the State, he announced that the teachers’ recruitment process will begin in next two months and 17,000 policemen will be appointed in a couple of months. The process has already begun in this regard, he said.

CM also noted that his government will not tamper with the century-old Chotanagpur Tenancy Act (CNT) and Santal Paragana Tenancy Act (SPT) in the state. “We are planning to make provisions, so that the tribals can mortgage their land and avail bank loan for education and housing,” he said adding the state government had discussion in this regard with the SBI Chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharyya.
