Government trying to improve rural standard of living: DC

Seraikela: A Janata Durbar cum night camp programme was organized in Riding village of Kharsawan block in Seraikela-Kharsawan on Sunday.

The deputy commissioner Chhavi Ranjan and Kharsawan MLA Dashrath Gagrai jointly inaugurated the programme held at the local CRPF camp. Many villagers turned up on the occasion and informed the district administration officials about their problems. They were assured of prompt action by the various departments concerned.

The DC and other administration officials informed those present about various development and welfare schemes being run by the Central and state governments. The departments covered by these schemes include fishery, agriculture, supply, education, health, social welfare, drinking water and sanitation, animal husbandry, MGNREGS and housing. Several stalls were put up on the occasion to collect applications and complaints from the people.

Addressing the gathering, the DC said the state government wanted to improve the standard of living of the people living in villages. He stressed the need for the preparation of schemes under the focus area and ensure their link with national schemes.

Gagrai raised the issue of closure of Khejurda drinking water project and Choutanpur main road. He said the water supply had been started in Khejurda village of Kharsawan several days back. He said the supply was discontinued within a week of its commencement. He further said that the Choutanpur main road had been closed. All this was troubling the villagers a lot, he said.

Among others present during the Janata Durbar included SP Chandan Kumar Sinha, DDC Akansha Ranjan, ADC Kunj Bihari Pandey, SDO Sandeep Dubey, DEO Alka Jaisawal, DSE Phulmani Khalkho, Rani Hembram, Nangi Jamuda, BDO Dayanand Prasad Jaisawal and CDPO Supriya Sharma.
