Jamshedpur, May 29: Bar Association Ghatshila’s advocate Tapan Kumar Chakraborty has filed a complaint case in Ghatshila sub divisional court on Monday in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate.
General Secretary of Ghatshila Bar Association, Bablu Mukherjee said that on May 22, Musabani police had thrashed advocate Tapan Kumar Chakraborty, registered a case under various sections and sent him to jail in critical condition. In protest against this, the advocates have kept themselves away from judicial work till Monday.
He said that complaint No. 174/23 against Tapan Kumar Chakraborty was lodged at ACJM’s court, SI Jhitish Kumar Soni, Patrik Tirkey, Syed Sajjad, Chetan Mandi police station in-charge Ankit Kumar and medical officer in-charge of Kendadih Primary Health Center Sundar Lal Mardi posted at Musabani police station on Monday.
Bablu Mukherjee said that the police have treated the advocate like a criminal. Until advocate Tapan Kumar does not get justice, the advocates will continue their agitation. A special meeting of bar members has been called on this matter on Wednesday.
