Four persons arrested for murdering 42-year-old woman at Birsanagar

Jamshedpur, July 25: Police today arrested four persons accused in murdering a 42-year-old woman, Dolly Samad by stabbing at her house in Zone No 3 under Birsanagar police station area on June 15 this year.

Those arrested have been identified as Chhota Samad (55), Harihar Singh Champia (26), Premanand Samad (24), all residents of Sitaramdera and Ramesh Bari (32), a resident of Telco.

Senior SP, Anoop T Mathew said Dolly who was a widow was stabbed to death by unknown assailants at her house on the afternoon of June 15.

During the murder, the assailants had also snatched a silver chain from the neck of the murder victim. Later the same evening, the murder victim’s brother Laxman Hembram who stayed separately in Birsanagar had lodged an FIR against unknown assailants, leading the police to investigate the case.

” We got a tip off, and we arrested arrested Champia, Premanand and Chhotu. Later after interrogating the trio, we arrested Ramesh Bari from an out-house at Nildih area in Telco around Sunday midnight,” said Mathew while talking to the newsmen.

The senior SP informed that a bike used in the murder along with silver chain that they had taken away after committing murder was recovered. He said they could not find the dagger with which the assailants had killed the woman.

According to the senior police officer, Champia and Ramesh used a bike and to the victim’s house at about 2.30 pm, on the plea of staying in her house on rent.

“As they entered one of them, Ramesh, took out the dagger and started stabbing the woman repeatedly. As she fell down getting fatally injured, the duo fled the scene leaving the woman to die on the spot.

The murder came to limelight after the brother of the murder victim visited the house in the evening same day,” said Mathew.

Significantly, Premanand said the murder victim was his aunty. “As my aunt was selling out the landed properties in Sundarnagar and also in Telco area, we had decided to get her murdered.

We had, therefore engaged two contact killers,” said Premanand as his fahter Chhotu Samad nodded his head in affirmation.
