Four abductors of Galudih farmer nabbed, Rs 11.56 lakh recovered

Jamshedpur, April 11: In a major breakthrough, city police here arrested four abductors of the Galudih based farmer, Shaktipado Sahu, and recovered cash worth Rs 11.56 lakh from their possession.

Those arrested were identified as Vijay Mistri, resident of Parsudih, Anil Soren, resident of Galudih, Ravi Soren, resident of MGM PS area, and Lakhi Ram Kisku, resident of MGM PS area.

Shaktipado Sahu was abducted for ransom from Galudih on 4th April last. An FIR was lodged in this connection with the Galudih police station.

SSP Anoop Birtharay said a special team of eight police officers led by Additional SP (Operations) Pranav Anand Jha arrested the abductors after much investigation into the case. Cops also confiscated three motorcycles recently purchased by the accused persons with the ransom. They said a ransom amount of Rs 20 lakh was paid by Sahu�s family members to the abductors who later released the victim.

Acting on inputs, the police team cracked down on the abductors at their respective hideaways. According to the SSP, one of those arrested, Ravi Soren, has a criminal past.

Praising the special task force officers on their achievement, the SSP felicitated them at his office. He said a search was on for the other culprits.
