Seraikela: State Urban Development minister CP Singh on Friday laid the foundation stone of nine projects under the Small Irrigation Division and distributed assets worth Rs 8.32 crore among the beneficiaries during Vikas Mela cum Asset Distribution Ceremony at Birsa Munda Stadium in Seraikela.
The minister said the state government had implemented the pension scheme announced for the widows. The agenda was announced before the polls, he said, adding further that the state government had worked for the welfare of all communities in its three year tenure so far with the help of the Central government. He said the government opened the bank accounts of 32 crore people under the Jan Dhan Yojana. Government is providing free LPG connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, he said.
The minister said the government was constructing toilets to make the state open defecation free. He further said that the revenues earned from mining sector are being utilized to provide clean drinking water to the people. Quality education is provided to the people and self help groups are being empowered, he said.
Among others present on the occasion included Ichagarh MLA Sadhucharan Mahato, deputy commissioner (DC) Chhavi Ranjan, ADC Kunj Bihari Pandey and Rajendra Kumar.
