For second consecutive day, Jamshedpur witnesses six Covid-19 cases

Jamshedpur, Oct 22: Coronavirus graph is rising again in Jamshedpur. East Singhbhum district for second consecutive day on Friday reported six Covid-19 cases.

With 6 new cases, Jamshedpur’s Covid-19 tally climbed to 51964 on Friday, while the death toll due to the viral disease remained at 1058 with no death reported during the day. The number of active coronavirus cases in Jamshedpur registered an increase, according to the Covid-19 bulletin of East Singhbhum updated at 7 pm on October 22.

Of the six new cases four were reported from Sakchi and one each from Parsudih and Baridih.

The number of active cases has gone up to 24, accounting for 3.05 per cent of the total caseload, while the Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.93 per cent, the data showed.

Also, 6256 tests to detect the infection were carried out on Friday, taking the total number of such tests conducted so far in Jamshedpur to 1704663 while the daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.10 per cent. The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 0.01 per cent, according to the bulletin.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has gone up to 50882, while the case fatality rate stands at 2.04 per cent, the data showed.

The recovery rate has climbed to 97.93 % while the active cases are 24.

3 positive people recovered of the virus on Friday pushing the recovery mark to 50882.

So far in Jamshedpur 1712373 samples have been collected out of which 1704663 have been tested and 1652699 have turned out to be negative.

On the other hand, total of 2448 people took Covid vaccine in East Singhbhum on Friday. In this, only 263 people took the vaccine in city and 2185 in the rural areas of the district.
