Five arrested over murder of Rairangpur’s youth in Sundernagar

Jamshedpur, Oct 26: Sundernagar police arrested five accused in the murder case of Baiju Soy, resident of Jagda of Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. 
Those arrested include Raju Hembram, resident of Sundernagar Neeldungri, Suresh Tiu of Byangbil, his brother Prakash Tiu, Suraj Singh and Akash Purty. The murder case is related to an illicit relationship.

Sundernagar police station in-charge Raja Dilawar said that the arrest of five other accused in the case is pending. 


An FIR was registered on September 10 for the murder of Baiju Soy. The main accused Neeldungri resident Laxman Pandey and his wife are still absconding. The young man used to visit Laxman Pandey’s house. Here, Laxman Soy told the police of Sundernagar police station in the complaint that his son Baiju Soy used to work in a factory in Gamharia. He lived in Sundernagar only. On September 6, he got a call on his mobile from his son’s mobile number. The caller girl asked them to come to Neeldungri of Sundernagar as soon as possible otherwise son would be killed. 


After this, the son’s face was shown by making a video call on  Ratnaprabha Soy’s who is Laxman Soy’s daughter-in-law mobile. It was then one o’clock in the afternoon. With his wife and daughter-in-law, he left for Sundernagar Nildungri.

On reaching there, the son was found lying in a pool of blood at the house of Neeldungri resident Laxman Pandey and his wife Rekha Pandey. There was a wound in the body and clothes were torn. Son’s bike was also found damaged.  He took his son and admitted to the hospital in Rairangpur where the son died on September 7. The complaint accuses Laxman Pandey and others of assaulting his son to death.
