Seraikela, Feb 5: Under the leadership of fisheries secretary, Jatindranath Swain, from the Union animal husbandry ministry team of Delhi visited various activities being implemented under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana under Chandil subdivision and other fisheries related activities of the state.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Seraikela Kharsawan, Arva Rajkamal, accompanied the fishery secretary along with Jharkhand agriculture secretary Abu Bakr Siddiqui.
During the inspection, local fishermen welcomed the delegates with Santhali traditional customs in Chandil Dam. The secretary inspected various types of fish farming activities taking place in Chandil reservoir. Cage culture and RFF pen culture were seen for large scale fish farming in Chandil Dam.
Appreciating this program being run for the economic and social upliftment of the displaced, Jatindranath. Swain said that it would be implemented in other suitable water bodies of the state as well. On the occasion, state fisheries director HN Dwivedi, joint fisheries director Manoj Kumar were also present.
The fish feed mill located near Chandil Dam was also inspected by the Union Secretary. Due to which the fish farmers are getting supplementary feed of fish at the local level itself.
