First Tata-Jaipur direct train flagged off, Shyam devotees happy


    Jamshedpur, March 15: Residents of Jamshedpur along with those in the entire Kolhan division finally got their wishes come true as the first direct train from Tatanagar to Jaipur.

    The train was flagged off by Mahaveer Agarwal, president, Sri Shyam Kendriya Seva Samiti, Tatanagar, Pavan Agarwal, secretary of the samiti and others from platform # 2 of Tatanagar railway station at 4.30 p.m. on Tuesday.

    More than 1000 Shyam devotees from Jamshedpur boarded the special train having two 2nd AC, six 3rd AC, eight sleeper and three unreserved coaches. The down train will leave Durgapura (near Jaipur) on at 10.10 p.m. Sunday, March 20.

    Pavan Agarwal, secretary of Sri Shyam Kendriya Seva Samiti, Tatanagar, said, Shyam devotees in Jamshedpur and the entire Kolhan region are happy with the new train service. Along with us, 100 financially weak people of the society are also visiting the Khatu Dham.”

    “We are thankful to the railway minister, our CM Raghubar Das and MP Bidhut Baran Mahato for the special train as we travel to Khatu Dham every year and now with the direct train our journey would be more comfortable as we don’t have to change train from New Delhi or take other options to travel to Rajasthan,” said Bistupur resident Anand Moonka, a Shyam devotee, who travels to Jaipur regularly.

    The Railways announced special train from Tatanagar to Jaipur for the Fagun Mela at Khatu Dham in Rajasthan following the initiatives of Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Jamshedpur MP Bidhut Baran Mahato. Railway minister Suresh Prabhu gave his consent to start the Fagun Mela special train.

    Significantly, the issue of a direct train from Tata to Jaipur has been raised in the Lok Sabha several times by Jamshedpur MP Bidhut Baran Mahato and in Rajya Sabha by MP Pradeep Balmuchu.

    Former Jamshedpur MPs Ajoy Kumar, Arjun Munda, Suman Mahato, Sunil Mahato, Abha Mahato and Shailendra Mahato also raised the issue in the Lok Sabha, as there is large population of people from Rajasthan in Jamshedpur, who have been demanding direct train to visit their place of origin since a very long time.
