Rs 80 lakh agricultural machinery and implements distributed among 16 women groups
Seraikela, Sept 20: According to the instructions of Directorate of Land Conservation of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department’s Agricultural Mechanization Promotion Scheme, a camp was organized by the District Land Conservation Department among 16 beneficiaries of women’s SHGs, a grant of more than Rs.80 lakh on agricultural machinery was sanctioned.
On this occasion, allied agricultural equipment including mini tractor and power tiller, rotavator, cultivator, cage wheel, mooting frame, rice hauler, self-prepped reaper, HDPE pipe, alternator, mini rice mill, centrifugal pump were distributed among the volunteer women groups.
State Transport and Tribal Welfare Minister Champai Soren, who was present as the chief guest at the camp, inaugurated the proceedings jointly with Ichagarh MLA Savita Mahto, Kharsawan MLA Dashrath Gagrai and Deputy Commissioner Arava Rajkamal.
In his address on this occasion, Champai Soren said that agriculture was the core of life. He observed, “The untiring efforts of farmers resulted in provision of food grains for all. The Hemant Soren government is determined to make the farmers strong and resource-rich. It is for this very purpose that grounds are being laid for a series of lift irrigation schemes from Ashua Nala to Sursi Nala in Rajnagar Block.”
The Minister said that in addition, the Chandil and Sitarampur Dams located in Gamharia and Ganjia Barrage Katha proposed on the Icha Kharkai Dam were being readied for water conservation and irrigation purposes. “The sole purpose of these undertakings is to ensure that farmers get irrigation facilities for their fields round the year.”
Champai Soren said that the state was on the path of continuous development under the leadership of young Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The development work under the leadership of the Chief Minister was progressing in full swing for the last three-four months after the two COVID waves passed. “During this period a provision of 75% reservation has been made for the tribal people in private sector jobs with the aim of getting them their rights. In this way, while preserving the original tradition and culture of the people of the state, work is being done to introduce a stream of development for the people,” he said.
In her address, Ichagarh MLA Savita Mahto said that with the use of modern agricultural machines, there would be continuous progress and improvement in the realms of agricultural in the district. Kharsawan MLA Dashrath Gagrai observed on the occasion that the Hemant Soren government was committed to the development of the state and that included development of agricultural by providing agricultural equipment to the farmers. Deputy Commissioner Arava Rajkamal observed that the district administration was working continuously towards qualitative progress.
On this occasion MP representative Chhotray Kisku, Deputy Development Commissioner Praveen Kumar Gagrai, Additional Deputy Commissioner Subodh Kumar, District Land Conservation Officer Vijay Kujur, ATMA Deputy Director Vijay Kumar Singh, Mukesh Kumar, JMM District Vice President Sanand Acharya alias Tilu, Lipu Mahanty and others were present.
