Jamshedpur, Dec 1: Encroachments on the Tatanagar Station Main Road will soon be removed. A formal announcement in this regard has been made by officials of the railway department who have drawn up an elaborate plan for this.
Hotels and shops that have encroached upon the busy thoroughfare will be impacted by this move. Plans have also been drawn up to remove encroachments from the Railway Colony, said officials.
Railway officials said that all necessary formalities are being completed before the operation is taken up. They also said that the encroachment removal will be carried out in the presence of a magistrate.
In the past too railway officials had attempted to remove the encroachments from the main road outside the Tatanagar railway station, but the shopkeepers and hotel owners approached the Jharkhand High Court and appealed for reprieve. In the past, they had got a stay order on the encroachment removal drive.
