Jamshedpur, May 11: A delegation of Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM), Jamshedpur Mahanagar submitted a memorandum to East Singhbhum DC Amit Kumar addressed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding passing of ‘Buy Indian Act’ to give a boost to domestic production.
Citing the “Buy American Act of 1933” which requires the United States government to prefer US-made products in its purchases.
The Manch had launched a signature camp against the use of Chinese products were more than one lakh people participated from East Singhbhum district. During the campaign people were appealed to boycott the Chinese products in the larger national interests.
Other demands of the manch includes setting up of Standard to test and ban the substandard goods imported from China into India.
The members of the manch said that no new economic partnership along with Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) with China should be made.
The Manch leaders said that China created impediments at international level in India’s entry in Nuclear Supply Group (NSG) and openly it is supporting terrorist groups and giving protection to the terrorist leaders. The Jaish-e-Mehmood head Azhar Masood is one among them, they added.
Besides, Pakistan had gifted 5180 sqkms of J&K territory to China and still China is making claim over 90,000 sqkms of Indian territory in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh.
Present on the occasion were Bande Shankar SIngh, Amit Mishra, Manju Thakur, Kaushal Kishore, Reeta Lal, Krishna Prasad Choudhary, Sujay Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Satya Narayan Mishra and others.
