Jamshedpur, August 28: Under the auspices of Jalaram Satsang Mandal, located at Contractors Area, Bistupur, Ekadasha Rudra Abhishek for Lord Shiva was performed on Sunday. Being Ekadashi in the month of Bhadrapada, worshiping Lord Shiva has a special significance in the Hindu calendar.

Prior to the Rudra Abhishek, Ganapati Avahan was performed and Sankalp was taken to do Rudra Abhishek. After that Ekadasha Rudra Abhishek was performed with chanting of Ruda Namakam by eminent Tamil priests of Jamshedpur, notably Sri Raja Vadyar, Sri Pattabhiraman etc.

While the Abhishek was being held “Jatha” chanting for Lord Shiva was also done by Sri Pattabhiraman. Chanting of “Jatha” is very important during Rudra Abhishek which is aimed at pleasing Lord Shiva. Not many priests can chant this as very few are aware of this difficult shloka.

While 11 priests are required to chant Rudra Namakam, it is heartening to note that a total of 20 Tamil priests were present today and Sri Jalaram Temple was reverberating with Rudra Namakam.

Many members of Jalaram Satsang Mandal were present during the event who witnessed the entire rituals and were blessed by the priests. Later on prasad was distributed among the devotees by the Satsang Mandal committee members.
