Jamshedpur, May 20 : Ranchi is all set to host an eight-day environment conclave from May 29 which will highlight different facets of environment and minimisation of adverse impact on it.

Organised by Yugantar Bharti, an outfit dedicated to environment conservation, the conclave to be held at Audrey House will see participation of various companies, which will put up stalls at the venue of the event.

Addressing a press meet at the Circuit House in Jamshedpur this evening, chairperson of Damodar Bachao Andolan, a initiative of Yugantar Bharti and state food and civil supplies minister Saryu Roy, said that several government department and corporate houses including Tata Steel will take part in the conclave to make people aware about the disasters of pollution created by different sources.

“For the first time the event is being organised on a grand scale. The conclave and a fair at the same venue will address various issues related to environment, air and water pollution. We have requested CII and FJCCI to write to their members in order to get more participation at the conclave. We have also asked the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB) to ensure participation of companies at the environment conclave,” said Roy.

Roy said that, apart from interactive sessions, in order to make students aware about environment, painting and essay contests will be held involving students of government and private schools.
