Jamshedpur, March 20: Tata Quality Management Services (TQMS) organised two separate functions to recognise Assessors for the Tata Education Excellence Programme (TEEP) 2014.
On March 18th 2015, a function was organised at Hotel Alcor to recognise Assessors under the TEEP Basic and Regular program. At another function, on March 19th 2015, organised at Centre for Excellence Assessors for the TEEP SARAL programme were also recognised.
Sunil Bhaskaran, Chairman, TEEP, and Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel was the Chief Guest for the Basic and Regular program at Hotel Alcor. Over 120 assessors participated in the assessments and were recognised at the function for the Regular Programme held at 24 schools had been assessed under the Regular program in 2014.
Each assessment takes about 350 man-hours with a team of five assessors, resulting in an assessment report consisting of Strengths, Opportunities for improvement and a score.
Eighteen assessors were recognised under the Basic Programme. 9 schools were assessed under this program in 2014. Each assessment takes 2-4 days at the end of which an assessment report and a compliance score is given to the school

TEEP Executive Committee members, Alok Krishna, Chief, TQMS, Ruchi Narendran, Chairperson, JEM Foundation gave away the certificates. A P R Nair, Director KPS, was also present on this occasion. The evening�s function also provided an opportunity for a dialogue between the Executive Committee of TEEP and Principals and teachers resulting in few significant suggestions for improvement.
In his address, Sunil Bhaskaran congratulated the assessors and reiterated that excellence was a journey and not an end-with each achievement.
A B Lall, Plant Head, Tata Motors was the chief guest for the function organised at Centre for Excellence for the TEEP SARAL programme.
Forty six assessors were recognized for the assessment of 23 semi-urban, rural, government Hindi medium schools that had participated in the assessment under the Saral programme. Each assessment takes 2-3 days, resulting in an assessment report with a compliance score.
N K Sharan, Vice President, TQMS, welcomed the audience. Mukesh Kumar Sinha, District Education Officer and Ruchi Narendran, Chairperson, JEM Foundation also graced the occasion and gave away the certificates of recognition to the assessors. A P R Nair, Director KPS, was also present on this occasion.
In his remarks, AB Lall said that the education excellence programme will remain incomplete till it addresses schools in remote areas and the SARAL programme offers the solution to address this need.
He emphasized the role of assessors as beacons to take this movement forward. He commended the efforts of TQMS in this direction.
