East Singhbhum AIDS patients to get social security pension

Jamshedpur: AIDS patients of East Singhbhum will soon be getting social security pension. The social welfare department of the state government has given its approval to a proposal seeking social security pension for AIDS patients. The efforts in this regard were put in by the Principal Secretary of health department, Nidhi Khare.

Sources said Khare had taken a serious note of the demand for social security pension for AIDS patients on the request of Jharkhand Human Rights Conference (JHRC) president Manoj Mishra. Khare contacted the welfare department officials concerned and got the 138 pending applications forwarded by the Anti Retroviral Therapy (ART) Centre of MGM Medical College and Hospital.

Sources went on to inform that the District Civil Surgeon of East Singhbhum Dr Maheshwari Prasad had been entrusted with the task of monitoring the disposal of pending applications.
