E-villages to be created in all panchayats of Jharkhand by 2017:CM

    Ranchi, Oct. 21: Addressing the Digital India Conclave conducted by India Today Group, Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that Information Technology had minimized the gap between people and government and now brokers can be kept at bay. The government is emphasizing on IT use in all departments, he said.

    Das said that ever since he took charge of the CMs office, the situation had changed. Jharkhand has become digital and the youths are being made skilled and educated. It is a step undertaken for eradicating poverty.

    All 4,404 panchayats are being connected with e-village. Now 1400 panchayats have been connected and by 2017, e-villages will be started in all the panchayats.

    The CM said that IT will be much helpful in implementing Suraj. “After taking charge as the CM, I laid emphasis on setting up a corruption free administration and accountable governance by ensuring maximum use of modern technology.”

    People and institutions working well in the IT field were felicitated during the programme. Urban Development Minister C. P. Singh, Principal Secretary to the CM Sanjay Kumar, IG Jharkhand R. K. Mallik and Secretary to the CM Sunil Kumar Burnwal were present on this occasion.
