Dog Show begins on an enthusiastic note

    Jamshedpur : The 53rd, 54th and 55 th Championship Dog Show took off today on an enthusiastic note at the Archery Ground at JRD Tata Sports Complex.

    The event was inaugurated by TV Narendran, MD, Tata Steel.

    The show commenced with a formal inauguration of the event by way of balloon release. This was followed by a march past by the dog squad, school children and school band, in that order. On the occasion, a souvenir was also released by the chief guest. The agility test, involving company dog squads, took the programme forward.

    Addressing the audience, Narendran said, The Dog Show at Jamshedpur is gradually attracting national limelight, owing to the single minded determination of the Jamshedpur Kennel Club members. I am certain that in their able hands, this Show will surely be a successful one.”

    He forwarded a warm welcome to the participants and spectators, saying, “It has been a constant effort on the part of Jamshedpur Kennel Club and Tata Steel to conduct a fair show each year. It is heartening to note that very soon, this show will receive a national stature.

    The presence of internationally renowned jury may serve as an indicator to this fact. I wish the squads the very best and the spectators a lively time at the show.”

    The highlight of the show will be display of some of the rare breeds like Afghan hounds, Siberian Husky, Poodle Standard, Irish Setter, Giant Schnauzer besides the popular breeds like German Shepherd, Doberman, Labrador and Great Dane. The two day Championship Dog Show is going to be a real treat for the people in Jamshedpur, particularly the canine lovers.

    Box- Best Championship Dog, Exhibit 225,  Beauty, Tata Steel Kennel winning after 10 years. 2nd Best Championship Dog, Tata Motors Kennel, exhibit 226.

    Best Companion Dog, Exhibit 220, Ashok Kumar, Delhi. The prizes were given away jointly by Ruchi Narendran and Sunil Bhaskaran, VP, Corporate Services, Tata Steel and the certificates were given by Bhutt, obedience judge.
