Ranchi, May 17: Jharkhand government is going to appoint more doctors to improve the quality of rural healthcare in the state.
Doctors would be given 20 per cent more incentives so as to be motivated for rendering better services. This was announced here at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, by Chief Minister Raghubar Das who inaugurated a multi level parking, stadium and mechanised laundry in the government hospital.
The CM also handed over 20 ambulances to the state health department some of which would be given to RIMS. The ambulances would be provided to medical colleges and community health care centres across the state.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion, the CM said that BS Community Health Course is being launched and once the student completes it they would be posted in rural areas and would work at the primary health care centers. A separate rules and regulations would also be framed for creating the posts of community health assistant.
The CM said the launch of mechanised laundry was a big step towards cleanliness as patients would be getting bed sheets, blankets, towels and gowns. He said that people from Bihar, Odisha and Chattissgarh visit RIMS and for them a dormitory with an investment of Rs 5 crore would be soon constructed where people would also get food at cheaper rates.
He said nursing courses would soon be started in Sadar hospitals where it would help to provide jobs to the girls and also there would be no lack of health care workers. The CM said many steps still needed to be taken to make a Healthy Jharkhand.
He said the cabinet has approved the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme which would benefit 80 per cent population of the state and asked the officials of the department to create awareness among the people regarding the scheme.
Das who also distributed appointment letters among doctors said they should work with dedication as negligence would not be tolerated in the work.
To curb female foeticide, he asked the civil surgeons to undertake registration of ultrasound machines in their areas. He also asked the people, health workers and officials to maintain cleanliness in the hospital premises and asked the people to give direct suggestions so that the facilities in the government hospitals can be brought at par with the private hospitals.
Health Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi was also present on the occasion.
