DLSA informs aged people of their legal rights

Jamshedpur: A legal awareness camp was organized in the Ghaghidih East panchayat near Karandih on Tuesday under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Jamshedpur. Many local residents including senior citizens were present on this occasion.

Addressing the gathering, one of the speakers Rajeev Kumar said that maintaining one�s parents was the legal duty of every person. Violation of this duty may led the courts to issue necessary orders to compel the maintenance of parents by their children, he said.

Kumar said the aged people should not take themselves to be a burden on their near and dear ones. Giving respect and affection to parents is the duty of all individuals, he said.

Various other speakers informed the gathering about the legal rights and duties of aged people. They also spoke about various government schemes that are meant to provide facilities to the aged people.
