Dist administration takes stock of poll code of conduct


    Jamshedpur : In the light of the two incidents of the breach of model code of conduct by the political parties the district administration has convened the meeting of the officials to take stock of the current situation.

    The meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner, (DC) Amitabh Kaushal was attended by SSP, Amol V Homkar among others, wherein issues pertaining to the smooth conduct of the polls were discussed at length.

    The DC instructed the officials to keep an eye on the movement of the candidates during their campaign and even otherwise besides the conduct of the candidates and the politi- cal parties have also come under the district administration’s scanner.

    Cases have been lodged against parties for breaching the model code of conduct that has come into effect with the announcement of dates for the elections to the Assembly polls.

    In addition to this, the DC informed in the meeting that on the directive of the election commission training to the polling officials to run the electronic voting machines (EVM’s) is being imparted.

    Meanwhile, SSP and DC briefly discussed about the law and order condition in the Maoist infested area. Nonetheless, SP informed in the meeting that officer in-charge of all the police stations of the district including, city have been asked pull up their shocks in the wake of elections.
